Mother kept daughter locked up for 42 years

The drama was revealed after the death of a 76-year-old woman, when her 51-year-old daughter was found in the house, who, as it turned out, had not gone outside for almost her entire adult life.

According to the newspaper “Eleftheria”, a woman who lived with her daughter in an apartment in Larisa, died on the steps of the entrance of her house when she was returning from the market. Her sudden death shed light on a dramatic story. Her daughter was locked in this apartment for 42 years, not leaving the house since the age of 9, when she was in the third grade of elementary school.

By order of the prosecutor, the social service of the municipality of Larisa was called, which is already investigating the living conditions of a woman who seems to have an idea of ​​​​the situation. However, the prosecutor’s office of Larisa deemed it necessary to investigate the case in order to answer questions that, among other things, relate to the reasons why the family kept her “under house arrest” from childhood. It is noted that her father passed away a few years ago.

The Larisa police department, which is investigating the case, has ordered a forensic medical examination to clarify the circumstances of the mother’s death. According to preliminary data, death was due to pathological causes, which refutes the initial assessment that the old woman received fatal injuries as a result of a fall, stumbling on the stairs.

We will remind, the woman last Saturday evening was found dead by her relative. She was lying on the outside stairs of the apartment building. Shopping bags were found nearby, confirming that the woman died suddenly while returning home from the store.

According to ΕΛ.ΑΣ., criminal interference is ruled out, and the EKAV doctor confirmed the death of the woman from pathological causes.
