"Mafiosi killed my son": says the father of a 38-year-old gas station owner in Gerakas

The father of 38-year-old gas station owner Anastasios Mitsu claims that his son Georgios was killed because he did not succumb to threats and refused to pay racketeers for “roof” (security at night).

“Mafiosi killed my son,” the father of Georgios Mitsos, the owner of a gas station in Gerakas, is beside himself with grief. On Saturday morning, June 18, unidentified persons literally riddled a young man with a burst of fire from a Kalashnikov assault rifle. 25 shell casings were found at the crime scene. The father of the murdered man, Anastasios Mitsu, asks to “find the killers and criminals”, while he claims that the mafiosi dealt with his son.

A heartbroken man criticizes “corrupt cops who know who is issuing death contracts and running the nightlife in the area, but doing nothing to protect respectable citizens.” The gray-haired man adds that their family is like the owner of the gas station enterprise, previously complained to the authorities about “the war declared by him (racketeers)“.

Meanwhile, the first facts from the scene of the massacre “testify” to the settling of scores, writes protothema.gr. Georgios Mitsu received several bullets when unknown criminals shot him with a Kalashnikov at a gas station located at 90 Marathonos Avenue in the Gerakas district.

According to what is known so far, the owner of the gas station arrived in his BMW to work, and as he parked in front of the gas station and got out of the car, a white van carrying four people pulled up next to him.

Opening the car door, 2 men with Kalashnikovs jumped out of the car and shot their victim on the spot. The gas station owner was mortally wounded. Then the criminals immediately jumped into the van and fled in an unknown direction.

Panic arose on the spot, many local residents who heard the shots hurried to hide, fearing for their lives. Witnesses to the attack describe that “it all happened in a matter of minutes.” Gangsters didn’t care about the presence or absence of other people. However, they seem to have studied the movements of Georgios well, were well organized and knowledgeable.

Shortly after the massacre, a burnt white van was discovered on Manu Katraki Street in Pallini, in which, according to the police, the perpetrators committed their plan. Currently, the police are “combing” the area and examining the van to find the fingerprints of the perpetrators and establish their identities.

As you know, in the past, strangers threw a grenade at the gas station building. According to the information, the victim allegedly previously worked in the police, in the anti-racketeering department.
