Frederic Hondos dies at the age of 40

Frederic Hondos, a member of the famous Hondos family and the son of Argyris Hontos, one of the founders of the chain of stores of the same name, has passed away at the age of 40.

Recently, the businessman has been struggling with an incurable disease. His funeral is scheduled for Monday, December 27, at the Kifissia cemetery.

Frederic Hondos was a member of the board of directors of Nifrestel Hondos Center, one of the companies representing the interests of the family, which operates stores in Kifissia, Ermou, Marousi and Heraklion in Crete.

Hondos Centers were founded in 1967 and initially operated as a cosmetics warehouse on Omirow Street, where the company’s headquarters are still located today.

In 2004, the company split up and Hondos Palace department stores were created (it had a branch in Ippokratio) under the leadership of Georgios Hondos, who went bankrupt in 2017.

His brother, Yiannis Hondos died in 2020, from cancer

The rest of the family members to this day continue to engage in cosmetics, as well as the sale of clothing and footwear, accessories and other goods.
