A high-rise building in the center of Athens caught fire

In the area of ​​Kolonos, adjacent to the center of Athens, a fire broke out in an apartment building.

It flared up in an apartment on Pifodorou Street. As it became known, the apartment is located on the 4th floor, and all residents of the high-rise building were urgently evacuated by firefighters who arrived at the scene of the fire.

At the moment, the fire is being extinguished by 24 firefighters who arrived in 8 specialized vehicles, and 2 mobile complexes to fight the fire.

A retractable ladder was sent in case the victims need to be rescued from the upper apartments. However, according to the fire department, all residents were evacuated without any additional effort on the part of the rescuers.
