Coronavirus: children 4-18 years old in 29% of cases

The number of cases between the ages of 4 and 18 years, for the week from September 20 to September 26, is 4026, or 29% (+ 21% to the previous week) of the total, informs the Greek National Health System EODY.

According to EODY, in the previous week (September 13-19), the total number of cases aged 4-18 years was 3559 (24% of all cases).

Slight increase in coronavirus cases in children
It is noted that expert scientists have constantly monitored the epidemiological indicators for children and the possible spread of the virus in schools.

Two weeks after the opening of educational institutions in the country, the number of new cases of the disease in children under 18 shows a slight increase, but does not reach the “records” of the previous month, when in the week of August 9-15, the number of detected cases of covid in children exceeded 5,000.

Meanwhile, Thessaloniki, Larisa, Kilkis and Halkidiki are reaching the “red” level of the coronavirus epidemiological situation.

It is not yet clear whether additional measures will be taken in these areas. However, the government’s position is moving towards the implementation of existing measures.

In addition, according to SKAI, the committee recommended that all public services of the country accept citizens with only three conditions: with a certificate of vaccination or previous illness, or with an express test.
