In Israel’s Givat Zeev, a suburb of Jerusalem, dozens of believers were injured when a synagogue collapsed, and one person died.
The structure with people collapsed during the service. The tragic incident is reported by the State Radio of Israel “Kan”. Among 60 victims, 10 are in serious condition. The moment the tribune collapsed was captured on video.
Mikheal Zingerman, an Israeli police spokesman, told TASS:
“The tribune collapsed during the prayer. At the moment there are no seriously injured, there are five or six victims, whose condition is assessed as moderate, the rest are lightly injured. The incident is not related to the extreme events of the last days in the country.”
Berl Lazar, the chief rabbi of Russia, reports that there are no Russian pilgrims in the synagogue, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the latest Israeli media reports at this hour, the death toll has increased to two, injured – to 132. At the time of the incident, there were 650 pilgrims in the synagogue.
