At 80, she has completed her bachelor's degree and is preparing to begin her master's degree.


The story of Mrs. Chrysanthis Agouridou, who four years ago entered the Theological School (Θεολογική Σχολή), and today receives a bachelor's degree, is a shining example to follow.

In a conversation with OREN, she said that I always dreamed of studying, but did not have such an opportunity due to financial difficulties and lack of support from loved ones. However, with With the help of her grandson, she found the strength and time to fulfill her dream.

“My dream is to study, but because of poverty and orphanhood, I could not realize it. Now that I have achieved success and found so much warmth and support from professors and fellow students, I want to continue studying,” the over-aged student shared her joy.

Chrysanthis also noted that her example can inspire a young person who dropped out of university but, after seeing her, regains confidence and decides to continue his studies.

As for her future plans, she said that preparing to enter a master's program. “Now I’m happy that I graduated from school. I have two daughters who received higher education and grandchildren. They all received diplomas and continued their studies. I also “stood in line with them.” And I found the intention to study thanks to my little grandson, who studies at ASOE. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have studied. He is a grandson who has become an example for his grandmother. When they brought me a laptop, I didn’t know what it was. For four years my grandson Stamatis sat next to meand that was it very helpful“,” Chrysanthis shared.

If all goes well, my grandmother plans to enroll in a master's program. She really likes Byzantium and may be focusing on that in her further studies.
