From 1.09.24, prices for coffee to go (in a paper cup) and on supermarket shelves will increase.
The rise in prices for the product is related to the government's decision to restore VAT to 24%. All types of coffee are in trend. The rise in prices is already noticeable in wholesale trade, where the cost of Arabica has already risen by 40-45% above the previous price, and Robusta – by 65%.
Consumers are expected to see significant price increases for coffee sold in supermarkets. Espresso capsules are expected to cost between €5 and €6, while ground espresso will cost between €6 and €7.2.
The price of Greek coffee will also increase: from 3.9 euros it could reach 4.7 euros.
