Intense thunderstorms and heavy rain peaked on Saturday (August 31) at around 1pm, taking passers-by on the streets of Athens by surprise.
In just a few minutes, many streets in the center were flooded. There were problems with the movement of vehicles. We remind you that according to the updated Bulletin on the emergency situation with deteriorating weather (EDEK), issued by the National Meteorological Service (EMY), cold and unstable air masses in the upper atmosphere will remain over our country until Sunday, September 1.
The severe weather, which has affected most of the continent locally, is characterized by heavy rains and thunderstorms, which will be accompanied by frequent lightning and local hail.
