Thessaloniki's metro, which will change the city's transport profile, is almost ready to welcome the public.

The main metro line, 9.6 km long and with 13 stations, will connect the New Railway Station with the Nea Elvetia area. The price of a metro ticket in Thessaloniki will be 0.90 euros (for 70 minutes), which is 0.30 euros cheaper than a 90-minute ticket on the Athens metro (1.20 euros).
