From Monday, 26.08.24, price increases for hundreds of pharmaceuticals will come into force, as announced by the Greek Ministry of Health.
The increase for all drugs was 35%, with the increase affecting 580 drugs, including antibiotics and insulin. The revaluation concerns cheap drugs so that they are not withdrawn from the Greek market.
The list includes the most common drugs. A typical example is the increase in the antibiotic Augmentin, the price of which increases from 5.94 to 7.48. In addition, the paracetamol drug Apotel will now cost 5.61 euros instead of 3.85 euros previously.
The cost of the revaluation is estimated at approximately €30 million for patients (in addition to their co-payment for the prescribed drug), with the cost share of EOPYY being approximately €60 million.
