Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Minister Vassilis Kikilias posted a video from a drone that spotted the fire in Varnabas on his personal account on the X platform.
A drone camera in the Parnitha area captured the moment the fire started in Barnabas, which then quickly spread throughout northeastern Attica.
According to authorities, the first helicopter arrived four minutes after the drone spotted the fire, and the first layer of water was dropped a minute later. The first ground forces arrived seven minutes later.
