“Ardennes” of V. Zelensky: a desperate attack on Kursk with a predictable end

The attack on the nuclear power plant in Kursk, which was apparently the target of the Ukrainian Armed Forces' attack on Russian territory, failed after the Ukrainian Armed Forces and the Main Intelligence Directorate, which had approached it to within a few kilometers, encountered heavy defense and retreated.

The Ukrainian offensive in this area was stopped, but they created several fortifications on Russian territory.

The thing is that after the failure with seizure of nuclear power plants it is not known where they will strike next Ukrainians. Much resembles the Battle of the Bulge of 1944-45*: a desperate attack, temporary territorial gains, the capture of large numbers of American prisoners, loss of initiative, and eventual retreat and surrender.

The battle in which Hitler, like V. Zelensky, spent his last strength in an attempt to reach the port of Antwerp and cut the Allied line “in two”.

The initial surprise stunned the Allies, especially the Americans, who had not expected the Germans to launch such an attack, just as the Russians had been taken by surprise. But the result was and remains the same. And if the weather is bad prevented the Allied air forces from intervening in time and stop the German attack, now things are different.

The weather is more than good, and The Russian Air Force, having no enemy, is launching fierce attacks on Ukrainian troops. Already the ratio of forces in the combat area is 1:5. About 2,000 Ukrainians are facing 10,000 Russians, and the subsequent Ukrainian forces are largely destroyed.

There are another 6,000 Ukrainian troops in the area, and even air superiority will not resolve the situation, as it is neutralized by Ukrainian air defense and the active use of drones, which have already shot down at least 2 Russian helicopters. And all this time, the Russians are rapidly transferring forces not from other fronts, as the Ukrainians hoped, but from their reserves.

At the same time, the Ukrainians managed to strengthen their positions in improvised trenches and continue to control the city of Sudzha, which they apparently want to turn into their stronghold. delaying his release as long as possible.

It will most likely not be easy for the Russian Armed Forces to destroy this bridgehead. The Ukrainians know how to fight very well, and considering that the best, elite units of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were sent to break through to the Kursk region, The Russians will not be able to quickly drive them out of the captured territory. Why the Ardennes? It is knownthat the American command prepared in advance to repel the enemy's offensive, placing large mobile groups of their troops north and south of the Ardennes, and in the Ardennes itself deliberately weakened the defense, leaving the 28th and 106th infantry divisions there. Everything happened exactly as the American commanders expected – the German troops went on the offensive in the Ardennes, where the Allies deliberately weakened the defense, and when the Germans broke through almost 100 km to the west, the American troops attacked them with their mobile groups of the 1st and 3rd armies from the flanks – from the north and south, putting the Germans at risk of encirclement. For the Germans, such an offensive in the form of a “wedge”, when they are simultaneously attacked from the north and south by mobile enemy forces, ended in “boiler“.

On December 16, 1944, at the beginning of the operation, German troops managed to break through the Anglo-American front on an 80 km section and capture 30,000 American soldiers and officers.

A trap for Zelensky

There is another version regarding Russia's reaction to the breakthrough of the Ukrainian Armed Forces into the Kursk region. The leadership of the Russian Armed Forces understands that it is unrealistic to capture the Kursk region with the forces of even 4 brigades and deliberately gives the Ukrainian Armed Forces the opportunity to be drawn into Russian territory, playing on Zelensky's ambitions and his desire to show his allies that The money spent on arming the Ukrainian Armed Forces was well spent. Moreover, the US elections are just around the corner and it is quite likely that the White House is eagerly awaiting big media victories.
