European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen expressed gratitude to Greece and France for the assistance they provide to Bulgaria.
“Thank you” she says for the help in extinguishing the fires in Bulgaria through the European Union's civil protection mechanism in the fight against them. The head of the EC wrote on the X platform:
“Many thanks to France and Greece for helping Bulgaria fight the fires through the civil protection mechanism EU. This is EU solidarity in action. This summer, 556 firefighters from 12 countries and an EU rescue fleet of 28 aircraft and 4 helicopters are ready to fight fires.”
