Burglary in the Metropolitan of Kifissia: they disabled the cameras and tried to take the safe

At dawn on Monday (3/6) a burglary occurred in the metropolitan area of the Athens region of Kifissia. It is reported that the criminals, having turned off the surveillance cameras, got inside and tried to take the safe, but they failed and grabbed a box containing 10,000 euros.

According to police sources, the Metropolitan of Kifissia, Maroussi and Marathon contacted the police on Monday morning 6/3 and complained that in the period from 03:50 to 04:40 in the morning, while he was sleeping in an apartment on the second floor of the metropolis, unknown persons jumped from the fence and entered the building. The attackers dismantled the alarm system of the two-story building of the Kifissia Metropolitanate and tried to break into the main door, but to no avail, but they managed to break the bars and enter the first floor window.

The thieves tore off all the surveillance cameras on the first floor and after a search found the accounting room, where they dismantled a metal safe 60 cm high and 50 cm wide, which was screwed to the floor. They then took the safe to the window and tried to throw it outside, but abandoned the attempt, leaving it on the windowsill.

Apparently the criminals, realizing that the police were approaching, left the crime scene, eventually taking 10,000 euros from a metal box in the accounting department.

The police are carrying out activities to search for and apprehend criminals.
