According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, an A-50U long-range radar detection aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces was shot down on February 23 near the city of Primorsko-Akhtarsk on the Sea of Azov.
Five more Russian aircraft were withdrawn from combat missions after it falls. According to intelligence data, the A50U made its last takeoff on February 23 at 15:50 from the Akhtubinsk airfield and was supposed to perform tasks near the settlements of Primorsko-Akhtarsk – Zernograd.
An abrupt cessation of operation in the specified area of the Shmel radar complex, which is equipped with the A-50U, was recorded by the radio intelligence stations of the power steering at 18:45.
