Sales of diesel cars in February increased by 2.8%, while there was a minimum of interest in cars with gasoline engines.
In particular, diesel cars in Greece recorded an increase in sales for another month. Their total market share was 19.1%, up 2.8% in February compared to the same month last year. After this event in Greece in February, almost one in five cars was diesel.
At the same time, the sale of electric vehicles also grew by 1.6%, accounting for 9% of all registered vehicles.
Petrol vehicles (-3.2%), hybrids (-0.6%) and natural gas vehicles (-0.7%) recorded a negative sales sign, while a slight increase of 0.1% was fixed for cars running on liquefied gas.
The favorite category of the Greeks was the category “B”, since every second car belongs to it. Of them more than half are SUVs. The next favorite category is Category C, with a total market share of 31%, followed by Category A, with a total market share of 6.5%. It should be noted that last month sales of new cars increased by 17.8% compared to the same month last year.
