Starting November 30, new categories of products will be added to the “household basket” for consumers with diabetes.
In particular, the categories “Sweeteners suitable for consumption by diabetics (for example, stevia)”, “Oatmeal” (and analogues) have been added to the “home basket”, while the category “Frozen vegetables” has been expanded to include products such as “peas ”, “okra” and “beans”. In addition, women’s pads and tampons have been added to the “basket”, and the “Tea” category has been removed.
Reportedly, the “family basket” already includes the following five categories of products suitable for diabetics:
- Milk is fresh skimmed.
- Yoghurt made from low-fat cow’s milk without flavorings.
- Fat-free cheese.
- Fresh chicken (packaged or not).
- Legumes.
In a statement, Minister of Development and Investment Adonis Georgiadis notes: “From Wednesday, November 30, 2022, the “family basket” will be supplemented with basic foods for our fellow citizens with diabetes. The aim is to offer this large part of our fellow citizens the products necessary for life at the lowest possible prices.
