WSJ: Russia received ballistic missiles from Iran (video)

The Wall Street Journal reports that Iran has transferred short-range ballistic missiles to Russia.

The United States responded to the transfer of Iranian missiles to Russia and said that this would mean a sharp escalation of the war in Ukraine. Sean Savett, a spokesman for the White House National Security Council, said, quotes Reuters:

“We have been warning about a deepening security partnership between Russia and Iran since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and are alarmed by these reports. Any transfer of Iranian ballistic missiles to Russia would represent a dramatic escalation of Iran's support for Russia's war of aggression against Ukraine.”

Another U.S. official told Reuters they were closely monitoring the potential transfer of Iranian missiles to Russia. Iran's mission to the United Nations in New York said on Friday that Tehran's position on the conflict in Ukraine remains unchanged.:

“Iran considers it inhumane to provide military assistance to the parties involved in the conflict, which leads to an increase in human casualties, destruction of infrastructure and distancing from the ceasefire negotiations. Thus, Iran not only refrains from such actions itself, but also calls on other countries to stop supplying weapons to the parties involved in the conflict.”

Iran has already delivered short-range missiles to Russia, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday, citing an unnamed American official.
