More than 2,800 people were injured in Lebanon in the mass explosions of pagers belonging to militants from "Hezbollah" (video)

Eight dead and thousands injured – that was the result of a massive explosion in Lebanon on September 17 of pagers used by fighters of the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

There were casualties across the country (video) more than 2,800 people. The organization placed responsibility for what happened on Israel and promised to respond.

Among the dead were two fighters, including the son of a Hezbollah leader, and a 10-year-old girl. One of the injured was Iran's ambassador to Beirut, the Iranian Fars news agency reported.

All the pagers that exploded were the latest models, according to three anonymous sources told Reuters, and the radical Islamist movement has been using them for the past few months.

Official Beirut and representatives of the Hezbollah movement placed responsibility for the incident on Israel. The terrorists promised that the state would suffer “deserved punishment” for what it did. The Israeli side has not yet commented on the incident.

How writes CNN Greece, Mossad carried out a remote and, most importantly, successful attack, in essentially the same way that Israeli intelligence agencies have acted against the country's enemies in the recent past. Dozens of surveillance videos show people blowing themselves up trying to see the message coming to them on their buzzer… According to Lebanese media, hospitals in the capital are filled with wounded. There have been no statements from Israel regarding these events yet, but leaks from the intelligence agencies report to Israeli media that Israel has accelerated the process of eliminating key Hamas members who have found refuge in Lebanon, as well as high-ranking officials in Lebanon.

Chances for a diplomatic settlement with Hezbollah are diminishing due to almost daily clashes on the border with Lebanon, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said earlier following a meeting with US Deputy Assistant to the President and Senior State Department Advisor for Energy Security Amos Hochstein on Monday, September 16.
