Halkidiki: Bloody showdown at beach bar, visitors flee in horror (video)

Grim video footage has captured a bloody brawl at a beach bar in the early hours of Saturday morning, August 17. The incident took place in the popular tourist village of Hanioti in northern Greece.

As a result of the showdown, five Bulgarian citizens were arrested, three of whom were injured, one is in critical condition. The police are investigating the motive and all the circumstances of the incident, suspecting a mafia showdown. Apparently, the conflict did not start yesterday, but has roots in the past, tells CNN Greece.

A group of Bulgarians enter a bar after 11:30 PM on a Friday night. After ordering, they become impatient, accusing the staff of being slow. The situation gets out of hand when chairs and other objects come to hand as arguments. The customers quickly retreat, and the showdown becomes increasingly heated. A group of Bulgarians loudly complain about the delay in ordering to the owner of a famous beach bar, and chairs are used.

At this time, “reinforcements” of six more people arrived, immediately joining the fight. The violent showdown continues on the street – the Bulgarians brutally beat the owner of the store, their compatriot, who is already lying on the ground and practically does not react to the blows.

While investigating the incident, the police admit the possibility that this was a clash between members of the Bulgarian mafia, who came to resolve their differences with weapons.

Three of the five arrested are being treated under guard at Polygyros Hospital, one of them was shot in the chest and is in critical condition. The five men have been charged with violating the Weapons Act, fighting and causing dangerous bodily harm. Police found gloves, pepper spray and knives on the detainees.
