Electricity: subsidy only for 500 kilowatt-hours, 80% for each additional kilowatt-hour

On July 20, Greece had the highest wholesale electricity price in Europe, ahead of Romania and Hungary, and more than double the price in Central Europe.

Prices are determined by the stock market, and at the moment the increase in wholesale sales in Greece is not related to an increase in production costs, since natural gas has not become more expensive. Thanks to the legislative regulation expected in the coming days, Part of the producers' excess profits will be reimbursed for at least two months.

IN The August bill will provide a subsidy to all household consumers at floating rates. The exact amount is not named, but it is assumed that it will be set in such a way that the final price per kilowatt-hour under the green tariff of the KPP did not exceed 15-16 cents (instead of 13.5 cents, which was without subsidies in July).

Particular attention should be paid to consumption, since Only the first 500 kilowatt-hours will be subsidized. Each additional kilowatt-hour will be charged 80% more than in JulySo, if this month the excess consumption is charged at 14.3 cents, then in August it will cost 21.4 cents, according to the green tariff algorithm.

There are no subsidies for companies, but they are exempt from paying back ETMEAR from previous years, which is estimated at a total of 400 million euros.
