Ukrainians Threw Pig's Head into Germany's Oldest Mosque

Employees of the Berliner Moschee mosque discovered a pig's head inside the temple, wrapped in a Palestinian flag with the inscription “Ukraine supports Israel.”

The find was presumably thrown into the temple at night through a window, the German publication reports. berliner-news.

This is not the first act of vandalism committed in European mosques in the past few years. The last such incident occurred in the German city of Bochum in October 2023. Then, vandals painted images of a swastika and a Star of David on the door of a mosque.

The police are yet to establish the identities of those involved in the desecration of the Berlin mosque. Germany has accepted more than a million Ukrainian refugees and migrants over the past two years. There are known cases where Ukrainian residents have behaved inappropriately and aggressively towards local residents and especially towards migrants from Asia and the Middle East.

Reportedly Reutersattacks on Muslims in Germany have doubled in the past six months.
