Electricity bills: no more "blue" tariffs


Households, regardless of their chosen supplier, should once again step up their game and choose the right economy tariff as the blue tariff becomes harder to access and has been withdrawn in some cases.

As reflected on the RAAEU website, where they are posted fixed rate supplier programssince June, some of them, cheaper than “green” ones, have ceased to be available. In some cases, rates have even increased to 70%.

In particular, VOLTON provided a six-month fixed tariff VOLTON Blue at 8.8 cents per kilowatt-hour with a permanent discount and a fixed price of 9.90 euros per month. Accordingly, Elpedison also cancelled fixed rate Elpedison Bright Up with a price of 8.9 cents per kilowatt-hour and a monthly fixed rate.

NRG also “froze” the fixed tariff 4U with a price of 15.1 cents per kilowatt-hour and with the provision of loyal conditions and bonuses. This product was withdrawn from sale on June 1.

Despite this, the rates blue tariffs remain below 10 cents per kilowatt-hour. On the website RAEEY Key suppliers such as Protergia, HERON are shown, providing fixed six-month rates with a payment of 9.75 cents per kilowatt-hour and 9.92 cents per kilowatt-hour respectively. The basic rates of the two companies are set at 9.90 euros per month.

DEIon the contrary, offers a fixed tariff of 12.3 cents per kilowatt-hour with a fixed price of 3.5 euros per month and a program duration of 12 months.
