Minister of Digital Governance: Complaints about beaches and "personal number"

In just three Holy Spirit days, 1,731 complaints were filed on the electronic platform.

So far, 8,911 complaints have been filed through the MyCoast app regarding illegal activities on beaches.“, emphasized the Minister of Digital Governance Dimitris Papastergiou. He clarified that through the platform, “a citizen going to the beach can see from his mobile phone whether the place is legally occupied by sun loungers and umbrellas.” At the same time, he added that both the Ministry of Digital Governance and the Ministry of Finance are also “scanning” beaches with recent photographs using an artificial intelligence system “to see whether the rental limit is being respected in these places.”

Speaking on the radio channel, the Minister of Digital Management also touched upon the topic of “getting a personal number.” According to him, priority is given to those citizens who have an old identity card, and those who issued a new identity card, you are not required to change it (receive it again).

Mr. Papastergiou emphasized that “personal number “essentially 'scans' all the registers that exist today in the Greek public sector,” characteristically noting that “the history of errors, chaos and confusion is ending. All government agencies are “on the same page” regarding who a citizen is.”
