As he wrote on Platform “X”:
“I visited today the naval base of Salamis, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff, General D. Khupis and the Chief of the General Staff, Vice Admiral D.E. Qatar, P.N. frigate”Ψαρά“, which takes over the work of the frigate “ΥΔΡΑ” in the operation ΑΣΠΙΔΕΣ (shields).
It will provide escort for the largest merchant fleet on the planet, protecting national and European interests and highlighting Greece's increased role in international security and stability.
I wished the captain and crew good luck in their duties and a safe return. May the patron saint of the fleet, Saint Nicholas, always be with them.”
