The Times: "The US is deliberately delaying the training of Ukrainian pilots on F-16 aircraft"

The Ukrainians and the British Times accuse the United States of deliberately delaying the training of Ukrainian pilots on the F-16 and harming military operations against Russia, and even they say this is a political decision, they point to the Biden administration.

The United States is making excuses for its failure to train enough Ukrainian pilots for the F-16 fighter jets that are to be delivered to Ukraine, said Alexandra Ustinova, head of the parliamentary special committee on arms and ammunition. There are several reasons why this could happen, but the most important thing is the US elections. The Biden administration continues to slip in the ratings, which is due to the poor economic situation in the country, which, nevertheless, continues to spend billions of dollars on Ukraine.

The United States is also concerned about the low level of training of Ukrainian pilots. They fear the “massive” destruction of American fighters, which would cause irreparable damage to American prestige. Due to delays, Ukraine will likely only have 20 pilots fully trained to fly the F-16 by the end of the year: “We will have fewer trained fighter pilots.”.

Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway have pledged to transfer more than 60 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. The first aircraft are expected at the end of this year. However, as Ustinova noted, currently only 8 Ukrainian pilots are being trained in Tucson, Arizona, and another 12 at an air base in Denmark.

The training program in Romania has not yet started. Kyiv approached Washington with a request to provide ten more places in the training programs, but the request was rejected. In turn, a representative of the US Department of Defense said that Ukrainian pilots have difficulties with the English language and the flight program, noting that progress in training on F-16 aircraft is very modest.

After all, was the NATO Secretary General telling the truth when he announced (allegedly in error) that NATO pilots would fly F-16s in Ukraine? After all, it is no longer a secret that Western specialists are involved in technically complex systems like Patriot. And the story with the shot down Belgorod IL-76 shows that they are primarily concerned not with executing the orders of immediate management, but with hitting targets, for which they receive a substantial monetary reward from sponsors.
