The Greek Foreign Ministry issued a statement expressing condolences to Armenia in connection with the disaster in the Lori and Tavush regions.
“Greece expresses its condolences and sympathy to the people of Armenia in connection with the loss of life and significant damage caused by heavy rains in the northern provinces of the country. We are ready to provide assistance,” the department said in a statement on the microblog in X.

Armenian media report that on May 26, the Debed River in Lori and Tavush regions overflowed its banks due to heavy rains the night before. As a result, roads and bridges collapsed, houses and cars were under water, and people were trapped. As a result of flooding, Interstate 6 is closed to traffic in both directions.
On May 29, the level of the Debed River was 6 meters, the Alaverdi-Archis-Noyemberyan water pipeline with a diameter of 530 mm was under water, as a result of which water supply to 16 settlements was stopped; yesterday it was already restored. There are currently 4 deaths as a result of the flood.
