P. Tatsopoulos: "We can't say whatever we want because Greece is an Orthodox country"

A very tense episode took place on the Katerina Kainurgiou show with Petros Tatsopoulos and lawyer Andreas Karagiannis, as the former is known to be uncomfortable with Orthodoxy and faith, and does not miss the opportunity to ridicule such serious issues.

This time his “target” was the “lost hand” of St. John the Russian, an issue raised by Mr. Karagiannis and causing an outburst of outrage, as well as the departure of Tatsopoulos, who shows that he cannot accept other views and, more importantly, other views for life.

“Since we are in an orthodox country, we cannot say whatever we want. Are you listening?” – said P. Tatsopoulos before leaving.

Dialogue:

Tatsopoulos. If you don't want to listen to me, don't call me. This man comes out today without closing his mouth, without laughing, and no one on the panel laughs, and he talks as if he is a correspondent, as if he is telling us the news. He tells us that John the Russian, a man who died three centuries ago, in 1730, communicates with us every 25 years, and he is not interested in world wars, or catastrophes, or Asia Minor, or anything. All he cares about every 25 years is communicating with his followers and telling them to change their attire. And we talk about it on a news program in a European country. Not in Zimbabwe.

Karagianni. This is an Orthodox country, Mr. Tatsopoulos.

Tatsopoulos. Because this is an Orthodox country, we cannot say whatever we want. You listen? We cannot say what we want, we are in the European Union. You insult people's intelligence. Bye, I'm leaving, enough paranoia!

New York: Help us! Mr. Tatsopoulos, I don’t understand this attack of yours. I speak to Mr. Tatsopoulos again, he is polite, we have nothing, we listen to all opinions, but now…

Petros Tatsopoulos. This is crazy, this is crazy.

Katerina Cainurgiu. It's not crazy, and I think the same as many viewers.

Petros Tatsopoulos. But you lead them, this fraudster who lives by fraud, lives by fraud. These are serious charges. Andreas Karagiannis, thank you for your composure.
