Two earthquakes this morning: 3.9 and 4.0 on the Richter scale


Seismic tremors were recorded this morning, May 24, near Kasos and near the island of Corfu.

An earthquake measuring 4.0 on the Richter scale was recorded at 01:39 in the maritime area, 33 kilometers northwest of Kasos and 374 kilometers southeast of the capital, according to the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens. The depth of the outbreak was 5.5 kilometers.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.9 on the Richter scale occurred today at 06:29 in the underwater zone of the Ionian Sea, near the west coast of Corfu, the Geodynamic Institute reports. The depth of the outbreak was 6.8 kilometers. The epicenter of the earthquake is 34 km south/southwest of Otoni.
