International Museum Day is celebrated annually on May 18th. This means that tomorrow, Saturday, admission to museums across the country will be free. On this day, a number of events will take place here, such as exhibitions and educational programs.

The International Council of Museums (ICOM), in an effort to highlight the role of museums in modern society, has designated 18 May as International Museum Day since 1977. The message is to museums became agents of cultural exchange “in order to strengthen education, promote mutual understanding, peace and cooperation between peoples”.

Therefore, museums can make significant contributions to our understanding of the world.

The museum will host a series of tours and other events that day, with free admission to the public (registration required).
