10201: ΕΛΑΣ 24-hour child protection hotline activated

Greek police have activated 10201, a 24-hour telephone line to protect minors from violence and all forms of crime.
As the announcement highlights, “This line is intended to enhance additional soft policing and outreach efforts on issues related to the prevention and response to juvenile delinquency.”

“The protection of minors, the prevention and deterrence of all forms of violence and offenses against them is a key priority for the Ministry of Citizen Protection and the Greek Police. The helpline is the beginning of a radical change in the way a child, parent, and any citizen can report an incident of violence and delinquency in any form against minors.” Greek police said in a statement regarding the opening of a hotline to protect minors from violence and all forms of crime. In particular:

• The new hotline will operate 24 hours a day throughout the country.
• Its task is to receive complaints, centrally manage incidents, provide information and advice.
• Its main proposal is a direct and unified response to all cases of violence and juvenile delinquency.

In addition, according to ΕΛΑΣin the near future there will be a special application has been launched, whose main purpose is to raise awareness of violence and delinquency among minors and encourage them to report incidents and ask for assistance through an easy-to-use form.
