In an unequal fight with a cockroach, a Japanese… blew up his own house

Everyone deals with “uninvited guests” in the house in their own way. In the Japanese city of Kumamoto, for example, a man managed to cause an explosion in an apartment after seeing a single cockroach.

In the fight against the insect that disgusted him, the 54-year-old Japanese man used an insecticide, but, trying to be sure, he sprayed too much of it, writes La Mainichi edition. Literally a minute later an explosion sounded, breaking the windows and causing minor injuries to the insect fighter.

Japan's National Consumer Affairs Center has previously received several reports of explosions that were likely caused by insecticides that ignited after contact with electrical outlets or other electrical sources. According to Philip Koehler, professor of entomology at the University of Florida, the use of rare pesticide sprays can be very dangerous:

“Lamps and gas flames from heaters can ignite flammable pesticides.”

It is also dangerous to use such products in an apartment where there are exposed wires, and even sockets can cause electric shock to a person if water-based products are used.
