Corinth Canal: demolition of dangerous sections of the strait walls

From the early morning of Saturday, April 6, in the area of Corinth, in the place where the strait is located, specialized teams of the company Kορίνθου (Α.Ε.ΔΙ.Κ) began work.

Workers demolished dangerous objects on the slopes of the canal through controlled explosions and deliberate collapses in order to resume navigation in the summer and to ensure that ship traffic was not at risk.

Let us remember that last year it was assumed that in February 2024 Corinth Canal will return to normal operation. However, due to the large volume of work, the deadlines were postponed.

As Athens News previously wrote, work was carried out on the Corinth Canal to install underwater supports to form (strengthen) a new channel. The images captured by Up Stories using a special drone with a powerful telephoto lens (zoom) at the construction site are truly impressive. The scale of the entire project is enormous and has a high degree of complexity.
