A 28-year-old woman was fatally shot by her attacker just meters from a police station while a police emergency operator was still on the other end of the line.
On the evening of April 1, near the police station in the capital's district of Ag. Anargyros, while the girl was talking on the phone, her ex-partner fatally stabbed her with a knife.
They broke up in 2020 when the young woman sued the man, including for rape. As a result, restrictive measures were applied to him.
Returning from work on the evening of Monday, April 31, the woman saw an intruder nearby and went to the nearest police station. There she asked for a patrol car so that the police would escort her home, because she was afraid to return alone.
The attendant told the visitor that “on this issue, she should call the 100 service (Αμεση Δράση, emergency assistance),” and she seemed to answer that she would call there herself.
The woman then left the station and called the recommended number 100, and while she was on the phone, the criminal, who arrived on the scene on a motorcycle, attacked and killed her, while the operator was still on the other end of the line.
The police leadership ordered an administrative investigation into the incident.
