Israelis razed the Iranian embassy in Damascus and killed Iranian general Mohammad Reza Zahidi

The Iranian consulate building in Damascus, which was also used as the residence of the Iranian ambassador in Damascus, was bombed by Israel on Monday afternoon, Iranian media reported.

The same sources reported that the Iranian ambassador was not injured in the airstrike because he was absent, although this has not yet been confirmed.

According to other sources, the building that was damaged next to the Iranian embassy was the residence of the ambassador. The type of weapon used in the attack remains unknown as it is unclear whether the strike was carried out by Israeli Air Force fighters or a guided cruise missile.

According to Reuters, during the raid also “amazed” building next to the Iranian embassy, which resulted in the death of the senior commander of the Revolutionary Guards in Syria and Lebanon, Mohammad Reza Zahedi. In all likelihood, this is a command center. Earlier, the Syrian state agency reported that Syrian anti-aircraft guns were intercepted “enemy targets” on the outskirts of Damascus.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, “At least four Israeli missiles hit the Jamraya area, where the research center is located, causing a fire.” Term “research Center” usually refers to military or other government installations.

The Israeli army's bombings in Syria are aimed at organizations associated with Iran, primarily the Lebanese “Hezbollah” as well as on Iranian officers who are on Syrian territory as advisers.

The Syrian Foreign Minister arrived at the site of the Iranian embassy after the Israeli airstrike.

Since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip, Israeli operations against Syria have intensified many times over. The attack reportedly killed 8 people. It should be noted that if the Iranian embassy was actually hit, then this is a casus belli and Iran will likely take serious retaliatory measures.

Israeli media: The attack on the Iranian embassy was carried out in response to a drone attack on an Israeli ship in the port of Eilat yesterday.

The official statement from the Syrian Ministry of Defense regarding today's attack: “Tonight, at approximately 17:00, Israeli enemies attacked the Iranian consulate building in Damascus from the occupied Syrian Golan. As a result of this attack, the entire building was destroyed, all people in the consulate were killed or were injured.Work to recover the bodies of the dead, provide assistance to the wounded and clear the rubble continues.

PS This story once again shows that in this world it is not the one who is attacked who is right, but the one who is stronger. And genocide, if it is carried out by those who can, is also not considered genocide. And the whole world understands this, despite the propaganda that flows “from every iron.”
