IS commentary on the reaction of the Russian authorities to the terrorist attack in Crocus City Hall

The new edition of the An-Naba newspaper, published on behalf of the Islamic State group, says that by blaming Western countries for the terrorist attack, Russia admitted its failure in the face of the Islamic State.

On this pays attention Ruslan Suleymanov, orientalist and author of the Telegram channel about the Middle East, writes BB.LV. Suleymanov quotes:

“After the resounding defeat, Russia found no choice but to level “collusion charges” against its opponents in the “Western camp” to avoid admitting its great failure in the face of the Mujahideen.”

The terrorist group's publication also states that the attackers had enough weapons to commit even more murders and further shootouts with security forces who would arrive at the scene of the attack. However, the malfunction of some guns forced the militants to hastily leave Crocus City Hall. Commenting on the confessions of the detainees, An-Naba notes:

“Russia is very interested in interrogating prisoners in a way that serves political conflicts with its opponents and covers up losses inflicted on it by the mujahideen.”

The ISIS report does not attribute the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall to the Vilayat Khorasan cell. As Suleymanov notes, in the infographics Russia is highlighted as a separate line, where the number 500 is indicated in the “killed and wounded” column. Vilayat Khorasan militants, according to IS statistics, managed to kill or wound 44 people.

In an interview with Rus.Postimees last week, Suleymanov, who personally worked in Afghanistan, told who and why the terrorists who claimed responsibility for the massacre on March 22 were recruiting, and what was wrong with the explanations of the Russian authorities.
