On March 16, a Greek tourist unfurled the Greek flag inside Hagia Sophia and took a photo with it.
According to Turkish reports: “A Greek tourist named Apostolos Papatheodorou tried to challenge the flag at Hagia Sophia, which he was visiting. He entered the mosque, paying 25 euros. There, he unfurled the Greek flag and took a photo, posting it on social networks with the caption “My favorite a city forever Greek.” This event caused an immediate and violent reaction in Turkey.”
The reports do not record the official reaction of the authorities, but only mention the reaction of social network users and their comments on the post of the Greek tourist:
“”I hope you can swim”, “The weather has warmed up, he wants to go to the sea”, “He loves to swim”, “He will be a good swimmer”, “Let the poor fellow be happy”, “The sea is cold, dear”, “You miss swimming , neighbour”.
