A meeting between Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and US President Joe Biden in Washington is scheduled for April 4, US Ambassador to Greece Georgios Tsounis announced on Wednesday, Mega TV reports.
However, government sources told state news agency amna: “We are currently in negotiations and have not yet received confirmation of a date.”
The Greek Prime Minister will take part in the event, which is traditionally held every year at the White House to mark the anniversary of the Greek Revolution of 1821. A bilateral meeting will be held on the same occasion.
The meeting between Mitsotakis and Biden will reportedly discuss all issues related to Greece and the US, such as weapons, energy and strategic relations between the two countries. Issues of Ukraine, the Middle East, the eastern Mediterranean and Greek-Turkish relations will also be touched upon.
Let us recall that Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis was planning to travel to the United States in January last year, but fell ill with the flu and the trip was cancelled.
