Russia has announced its readiness to transfer the bodies of those killed in the crash of the Il-76 to Ukraine


The Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, said that Russia is ready to transfer to Ukraine the bodies of those killed on January 24 during crash of Il-76 in the Belgorod region.

How writes The Moscow Times, she reported that she was in contact with representatives of Ukraine in the case of the plane crash, and “the Ukrainian side was interested in the possibility of transferring the bodies”:

“For this, everything necessary from a procedural point of view is available… The bodies can be transferred according to the procedures that exist.”

Moskalkova clarified that she is discussing this issue with the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmitry Lubinets, to whom she allegedly “gave all the answers to questions about the incident”:

“Regarding the bodies, I immediately said that we have confirmation and all the DNA, which, according to the examination, allows us to make an identification.”

GUR representative Andrey Yusov says that Ukraine has repeatedly turned to Russia regarding the transfer of the bodies of Ukrainian prisoners of war allegedly killed on board the Il-76:

“Work in this direction continues, as does the investigation into the circumstances of what actually happened on board the Il-76, and who was actually there. There is contact on this matter. When we can talk about the results, we will report.”
