Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned Greece’s new law for LGBTQ+ people to be able to adopt children, saying “Pedophilia is becoming the new norm.”
In his public appearance, he referred to the general decline of the West, citing Greece’s abortion law for LGBTQ+ “marriages” and adoption of children by same-sex couples.

Referring to recent events in Greece, he said that “they destroy the institution of the family, their own historical identity and traditions,” expressing his dissatisfaction with what was happening.
For Russians, Greece has been and remains a very important country, since they consider it a kind of “spiritual mother”because she offered them Orthodoxy, and they are very disappointed with the moral direction of the country. In particular, the Russian president said:
“They cannot accept the fact that Russia cannot be defeated on the battlefield. Therefore, they launch disinformation attacks. First of all, they are deceiving the younger generation. They distort historical facts and do not stop their attacks on our culture, Orthodoxy and other religions. Look what they do to their own people. They destroy the institution of family, their own historical identity and traditions.
When it comes to children, pedophilia is accepted as the new norm (referring to the LGBTQ+ law passed in Greece, which will allow them to adopt minor children). Priests are forced to recognize and perform same-sex marriages. People have the right to live the way they want, no one invades their privacy, no one wants that, but I would say look at the scripture of any religion. It says that family is union of man and woman“.
