Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland "deeply concerned" an appeal to Putin

The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs is alarmed by a pro-Russian poster calling for Putin, which was spotted at a protest rally by Polish farmers.

The representative of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Pavel Wronski, called for distancing from such participants in the action, since such actions cause serious harm to the country’s reputation.

On February 20, one of the participants in the protest of Polish farmers attached a poster calling on Putin to “bring order to Ukraine, Brussels and the Polish authorities,” while the USSR flag fluttered nearby. Pavel Vronsky stated, quotes “European truth”:

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes with the utmost concern the appearance of anti-Ukrainian slogans and slogans praising Vladimir Putin and the war he continues to wage during the latest blockades of farmers. Such actions harm the reputation of Poland, which was among the first to help Ukraine and accepted Ukrainians who were fleeing the war, and also discredits the organizers of the protests themselves. We are convinced that this is an attempt to “hijack” the protest movement of farmers by radical and irresponsible groups, likely under the influence of Russian agents. We call on the organizers of the protests to identify and remove from their ranks the few initiators of this and similar actions. The current situation Polish farmers are the result of aggression against Ukraine and the consequences of this for the global economy, and not that Ukrainians are defending themselves from aggression.”

A little later, as quoted by RMF24, Pavel Vronsky said that the incident was shocking and discredited the protests:

“These actions do not help either the farmers themselves or the resolution of the dispute with Ukraine. The only one who will benefit from this is Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.”

He noted that it does not matter at all whether pro-Russian slogans appeared through real Russian agents or through “useful idiots.” Polish police have launched an investigation over a controversial poster calling for Putin.
