The December drawing of the tax (check) state lottery took place.
AADE took into account purchases/transactions made by plastic cards and online in the previous month. The amounts that taxpayers can receive are as follows:
- 1 lucky person will win 50,000 euros
- 5 lucky winners will win 20,000 euros each
- 50 lucky winners will win €5,000 each
- 500 lucky winners will win €1,000 each.
Taxpayers who participate in the drawing and have not declared a bank account are given three months from the date of the draw in order to provide data. In the TAXIS system, you must indicate the bank account into which you want the prize money to be credited. Amounts distributed through the Tax Lottery are not taxed, are not considered income, and are not subject to withholding by the government or third parties.
ΑΑΔΕ reminds that Taxpayers over 18 years of age are eligible to participate in the lottery. To qualify for the monthly draws, you must have made at least one transaction using a plastic card or online purchase during the previous month. The Greek Ministry of Finance’s plan to establish a state lottery aims to encourage citizens to use plastic money/electronic payments in order to increase government revenue, VAT and income tax collection. The lottery implies that the more a person makes purchases with a card, the greater the likelihood of winning.
