Nafpaktos will visit the world’s first “passport robot” named “Sophia” for a separate discussion on artificial intelligence and ethics.
As stated in the corresponding announcement, at the conference, participants from 6 countries, together with “the robot Sophia,” will analyze important aspects related to the coexistence of humans and artificial intelligence.
In particular conference “Meeting with Sofia” will be held on March 10 at the Nafpaktos International Conference Center, which is located next to the Holy Transfiguration Monastery of Sotiros, in Skala Nafpaktia. At the conference there will be explores the impact of artificial intelligence on ethical issues, from protecting privacy to protecting justice and the values of the human race.
Technoethics is a branch of applied philosophy and an area of interdisciplinary research whose main subject is the relationship between technological development and the values of modern society. The event will take place in the presence of 150 guests, but no access to the general public.
Sophia is a humanoid social robot developed by Hong Kong-based Hanson Robotics and licensed to Victorious Network in Greece. It was activated on February 14, 2016 and made its first public appearance in mid-March of that year. “Robot Sofia” met with heads of state, important personalities, and also gave interviews to the largest television channels on the planet.
