Correct answer to crime: Denmark demolishes ghettos of “non-Western” migrants

Denmark demolishes “ghetto”in which they live “non-Western” migrants, trying to prevent the “creation of parallel societies” and avoid the fate of Sweden, which was forced to bring the army into the streets due to a recent surge in violence.

These “ghetto” in recent years have been announced “restricted areas”, that is, areas inaccessible to local residents! This is a serious intervention by a serious country, in contrast to what is happening in Greece, where the leadership of the Ministry of Civil Defense changes every two months.

Denmark is one of the richest countries in the world and has one of the highest per capita incomes in the world. It has low unemployment and an exemplary labor market with an active employment policy, as is common in all Scandinavian countries, as well as an effective welfare state.

However, after gang wars involving mostly foreigners took place in Sweden, the Danish Social Democratic government will begin demolishing entire neighborhoods where “non-Western” migrants, a measure that enjoys great support in the Scandinavian country itself. Feelings of insecurity and a recent increase in crime in Denmark, as well as neighborhoods occupied by low-income families from countries with completely different cultural and religious traditions, have forced the Danish government to take radical decisions. Denmark’s Gini coefficient, which measures income inequality in a country, has soared to 30, a level that is already approaching that of southern European countries. This happens when a country has more foreigners than it can handle.

This coefficient ranges from 0 to 100. Zero means that the entire population has the same income (absolute equality), and 100 means that only one person has the entire income of the country. Denmark has historically been a pioneer in this indicator, with levels between 22 and 25. The Gini coefficient has risen sharply in recent years, which suggests something is wrong.

The government says the plan aims to destroy “parallel societies” because that is how alien gangs are created, as happened in Sweden. In practice, this means that thousands of apartments will be demolished, sold to private investors, or replaced with new housing aimed at other types of profiles (and often non-migrants) to encourage integration and prevent the creation of ghettos, as has happened in Sweden’s most dangerous neighborhoods.

The government believes this will eliminate “parallel societies”, which politicians describe as segregated enclaves where immigrants do not participate in wider society or learn Danish, even if they benefit from the country’s generous welfare system.

This is essentially an indirect way to prevent foreigners from coming into the country. The implementation of the “ghetto law” means a reduction in social housing and, in particular, housing with affordable rent for foreigners.

Under the new law, in neighborhoods where at least half the population is of non-Western origin, and where at least two of the following characteristics exist (low income, low education, high unemployment or a high percentage of residents with a criminal record), the share of rental housing should decline to 40% or less by 2030.

This means more than 4,000 public housing units will have to be vacated or demolished. At least 430 have already been demolished. Displaced residents are offered alternative public housing options in other buildings or areas.

It is already clear that even countries such as Denmark and Sweden have begun to pay dearly for their policies of “tolerance” towards foreigners who do not have sufficient qualifications to integrate smoothly into their society.
