T. Gouriotis: “Erdogan comes here to demand the demilitarization of the islands and the division of the Aegean Sea”

The editor of the popular Greek publication Pronews, Tasos Gouriotis, and the famous YouTuber Lambros Paschos held a discussion about the visit of Turkish President R.T. Erdogan to Greece.

During the discussion, the parties touched upon the issue of whether Erdogan should come to Greece, the demilitarization of the islands and how Greece should treat Turkey’s demand to divide the Aegean Sea into two parts. Also about all the characters in the political system and, in particular, about the heads of the three right-wing parties. In addition, the parties discussed the topic of legalizing same-sex marriage and adoption of children by same-sex couples.

In particular, the editor of the popular Greek publication Pronews, Tasos Gouriotis, said:

“There is no reason why Erdogan should not come to Greece. There is no reason why Erdogan should not come to Greece. The question is not whether Erdogan will come, the question is on the agenda.”

– “The number one issue with which Erdogan wants to embarrass us is the demilitarization of the islands. A long-standing demand of Turkey, which, unfortunately, was never fulfilled. Armored fighting vehicles were never transferred to the Greek islands after the withdrawal of the BMP- 1, which were transferred to Ukraine. Not only they were withdrawn, but also other things, such as ammunition and man-portable anti-aircraft missiles. Training centers, which were not coincidentally located on the Greek islands, were closed. Because they all trained there, in the place where they were going to fight “.

– “Turkey asks for joint exploitation of the Aegean Sea, that is, it wants to enter our home. Because the Aegean Sea is our home, our sovereignty over the territory of the islands gives us rights. Of course, since the 1970s we have recognized that there is one unresolved issue , and this is the solution to the question of the continental shelf, that’s all.”

“The armed forces of the present era are not at all similar to those of the past. In those days, those who wanted to become an officer became officers, but now those who successfully pass the entrance exams become officers. Today’s officers are better educated than those who were in the past, but the former officers were warriors… The military school program does not produce warriors, but it teaches young officers how to behave with soldiers, how to report to foreigners, they study international law, and all this is nonsense.

All this should have taken a maximum of half a year. Officers must become military leaders. Military leadership means knowing how to control weapons and use them to kill, and how to send soldiers into battle, often to certain death. I don’t really know how many of them are capable of this. On the other hand (to our regret), they have an army that is constantly at war. They have losses, but they have tactical combat experience.
