What Poseidonas Avenue will look like

Impressive images of the large-scale project being implemented on Poseidonas Avenue were captured using drones.

Work on AVAX began in May 2022 and is expected to be completed in 2025. In the second quarter of 2023 (until June), the project carried out concreting work on the roof and walls of the tunnel. At the same time, 50% of the excavation work and 30% of the concreting of the base slab have been completed.

The underground part of Poseidon will be 1.3 km long and will stretch from Alimos Beach to Agios Kosmas Marina. There will be six lanes – three in each traffic, and the speed limit will be 70-80 km/h. It is expected that the project will “free” the embankment from traffic jams, since six traffic lights will be removed. The video shows how the project of the new tower of the Athens Riviera is progressing, as well as a large infrastructure project to “immerse” the roadway of Poseidonas Avenue in Elliniko.

Upon completion of the project, the city’s road network will be modernized, allowing for faster passage of vehicles. Drivers will see a significant difference in speed along the coastal highway, and pedestrians will have easier access to the sea and beaches.
