The purpose of the German President’s visit to Qatar was part of his efforts to support Israel. It seems that Qatar is not very happy about this.

A very revealing story. German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier landed in Qatar. Door opened. The red carpet was rolled out. But… not a single official representative of the Qatari government met him. He waited at the door of the plane for several minutes (!!!) until a Qatari official came to greet him.
This attitude of Qatar shows how the countries of the Global South perceive the Germany of Olaf Scholz, whose political weight is rapidly falling into the abyss.
During Angela Merkel’s chancellorship, officials from all countries (even the US) waited for hours for a German government official to get off a plane because at the time they considered Germany a great power with a say in world affairs.
