After winning $1.35 billion, an American… filed a lawsuit

In the United States, a man hit an unprecedented jackpot in the Mega Millions lottery in the amount of 1.35 billion dollars and filed a lawsuit.

He sued his daughter’s mother, who could not resist and reported the winnings to the relatives of the lucky winner – his stepmother, father and sister. How tells People, the man purchased the ticket on January 13 in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, and decided to receive a lump sum payment of $723,564,144 (excluding taxes). But… everything went wrong and not as he planned.

His daughter’s mother, Sarah Smith, signed a non-disclosure agreement to keep her father’s winnings secret until 2032, when their daughter turns 18. But she couldn’t resist and told her husband’s relatives about the jackpot by phone.

Now the man demands that she name the names of those who found out the information and compensation for damages “in the amount that will be determined during the trial, but not less than 100 thousand US dollars.” The lawsuit states: “As a result of the unauthorized disclosure, John Doe has suffered irreparable harm and there is an immediate and imminent danger that he will continue to suffer irreparable harm for which there is no adequate remedy.”
