A new case of oil theft occurred in one of the most famous and picturesque taverns of Athens, located in the Pagrati area, in Ag. Spiridonas.
According to iefimerida.gr, the attackers entered the premises by opening the door. According to neighbors who allegedly heard some noise, it was around 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14th. However, the movements of the attackers were not recorded in any way, since there were simply… no security cameras in the tavern!
Having made their way inside, the thieves searched the premises and eventually took away a TV and… six 20-liter jars of olive oil, and then disappeared. The owner was notified of the incident early in the morning, around 7 o’clock, when workers arrived at the construction site (of an apartment building being built in the area) and saw the tavern door broken down.
Considering that each A 20 liter jar of oil now costs almost 200 euros (4 times more than in the spring), the thieves received good and easily sold loot.
